The other day I was out and about at the Los Angeles Ballet Studios during WAA and I saw some pretty cool leos. I did some work and found out that LAB dancer Julia Cinquemani has her own line - Jule Dancwear. Love the tank cut-outs. Totally LA - and get this. Everything made in the USA. My entrepreneurial interests in producing dancewear began when I was about 14. I asked my mom to help me make a wrap skirt that was cuter than what was available is stores. At the time, all of my friends at my studio, The Dallas Ballet Center, wanted a skirt. My good friend Kailey Andriot and I learned how to sew and started a business called Ballet Jupé making skirts for our friends. Eventually, we caught the eye of Randy Boyse, owner of Sandy's Shoes & Dancewear and he began selling our skirts without taking any profit for about 6 months before he started buying our skirts wholesale. Soon after that we started picking up more stores.
After moving away from Dallas to study with the Pacific Northwest Ballet's Professional Division, and with Kailey pursuing school at SMU, it was difficult to maintain the partnership. I was interested in expanding the dancewear line including new designs for leotards and legwarmers. In 2011, at 20 years old, I started Jule Dancewear. I was able to create great fitting, simple styles with bold colors and quality fabrics that dancers of any type can look and feel great in.
Currently we are producing leotards, ballet skirts, and legwarmers. All products are fabricated in Dallas where quality control is high.
Our biggest selling product are our wrap skirts. We provide an ever changing range of fabrics and prints from fun to sophisticated. The skirts are cut shorter than other wrap skirts providing the look of longer legs. We have sold thousands of wrap skirts over the years. The swing skirts are all stretch content and tie on the side. They are great for younger dancers that can simply pull the skirt on and off.
Our Razorback and Tank cut-out leotards are designed with support in mind. I designed both to emulate the support you would get from a sports bra and with a simple design that is flattering on most every body type. Both are available in an array of various colors and trims that are sure to stand out.
The thigh-high legwarmers are made out of a cotton jersey that keep your legs warm without adding the bulk of a heavy knit. They feature a drawstring on the side where you can scrunch one side up to show your feet and ankles. They are also unisex.

Since all of our products are made in the US, orders are usually shipped out the next day.
Overall it has been a very fun and creative learning process for me being able to design as well as learning the in's and out's of running a business.

Let me start out by saying, for the most part, I am not a fan of large chain restaurants. It’s not that they aren’t providing convenience; it’s just often they stop caring about produce value somewhere along the chain. Usually, when the chicken starts to look reconstituted and they start labeling GMOs on the menu (See Chipotle) I notice that overall quality has retreated. Enough with my rant; somehow, Lyfe Kitchen has lured me in and made me a believer in their vision. It’s not as hippy dippy as Café Gratitude, no offense to the most thankful restaurant in town but it has a crowd attributed to the namesake. Lyfe Kitchen, which opened in 2011, is an acronym for “Love Your Food Everyday”. This may sound corny that is until you experience the modern décor complete with micro greens on the wall, friendly staff and great-tasting food that is convenient, affordable and good for you.
As soon as it opened in Culver City, I was first in line (There is Palo Alto location as well as well as a plan to open 250 locations within the next five years). They have three menus to choose from: regular, vegan or gluten-free. I perused all three and saw so many dishes that were low calorie (Under 600) with an average price range of $8 - $15. I ordered the Fish Tacos which consisted of grilled mahi, chayote slaw, avocado, green onion, cilantro, chipotle aioli salsa fresca, on warm corn tortillas Cost: $9.99. Once you have ordered, they give you a gps table marker and bring you your food, water and utensils are DIY. The tacos were fresh tasting and delicious! Of course I had to come back for breakfast and I must say their Ancient Grain Buttermilk Pancakes were a game-changer; made with Whole-Grain Farro and Quinoa, and topped with with Fresh Berries, Greek Yogurt, 100% Maple Syrup all for $4.99…brilliant! Lyfe Kitchen is an ideal dining experience because it is both health and budget conscious and the staff is super friendly and helpful, I highly recommend this establishment.

On Saturday, March 27th, I had a wonderful brunch with my Mother at Porta Via Bistro Bar in Beverly Hills. The food was delicious and it truly was a Hollywood Scene...ppl everywhere in hats and sunglasses trying to be incognito... But that's neither here nor there...
As you know, this website is dedicated to dance and when my Mother threw me this little magazine outta nowhere - CR Fashion LookBook Issue 2 (Dance)- I was in heaven. BOOM! Previously, we've known Carine Roitfeld from her days as Edition-In-Chief of Vogue Paris for nearly a decade but now, with her magazine - CR Lookbook - Issue 2, we know her as a loyal dance supporter. The images are A-MAZING and I had to do a double-take when I saw the stunning front cover of Sergei Polunin striking a pose in the Hollywood Hills. And the coolest part? You can see the Griffith Park Observatory in the background!!! That place is so special to me because my late Grandfather use to take my sisters and I there when we were kids.
