Monica was raised in a family with three girls and grew up in both Southern and Northern California.  And, oh yes, she attributes her love of the Laker Girls to her time living in Orange County watching Laker games with her Dad.  Monica spent more than 15 years dancing and loved every minute of it.  In her early days she enjoyed making the dance team for the Phoenix Suns and going to the Ailey School in New York.  It was there that she developed a love for concert dance.  Monica realized that traveling was better than staying in one place.  She went to college in Arizona and followed a degree in Political Science and a minor in Dance.  Monica later continued on to American University in Washington DC to pursue a Masters of Arts Degree in Arts Management.  While in Washington DC, Monica worked for Dance/US A, the National Service Organization for Professional Dance for 5 years and then worked for Alonzo King LINES Ballet in San Francisco.  Somewhere in between she worked for Jacob's Pillow Dance Festival too.  She has served on a panel for the National Endowment for the Arts for Dance funding and is a current member of Dance/USA.  Monica now lives and works in Sunny Southern California.  She loves her job at CBS Studios International at Television City in Los Angeles loves the eclectic dance community in SoCal.

Monica has grown up around dance lifestyle for as long as she can remember.  Drawn to great dance and fitness gear, amazing companies, and unique things, she credits her style to her awesome family:  athletic and active in the arts.  Intrigued by many things, Monica found a need to share her enthusiasm for dance and thus, SPOT was created.
